A Hole in the Roof Foundation helps faith groups of every denomination who care for the homeless repair the spaces in which they carry out their work. The seed that gave root to the Foundation – and also inspired its name—was the hole in the roof of the I Am My Brother’s Keeper church in inner-city Detroit, written about in Mitch Albom’s book, Have a Little Faith. in 2014, A Hole in the Roof joined forces with the National Book Store Foundation to launch “D.R.Y (Donated Reading for Youth) Libraries,” which is committed to rebuilding 10 children’s libraries in areas of The Philippines hardest hit by the 2013 Typhoon Yolanda.
