The 12th Annual Andre Agassi Grand Slam for Children Benefit Concert presented by Genworth Financial proved to be a raging success last weekend, raising more than $9 million for the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation. The AACF raised $8.1 million through ticket sales and a silent auction, while Charles Heers, owner of Tuscany Suites & Casino in Las Vegas pledged an additional $1 million to bring the total to $9.1 million. Goo Goo Dolls to Play Benefit Gig Aug 15, 2007

American rock band the Goo Goo Dolls are to end their current tour by playing a benefit gig at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on September 6. The band agreed to reschedule a June show for September, and all proceeds will go towards the Griffith Park Recovery Fund, an organization set up to help replenish the natural vegetation destroyed in the park during devastating forest fires in May.
