While visiting cities during his Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour, actor Charlie Sheen has surprised many with some spontaneous gestures of charity.
Besides donating part of the ticket proceeds of the Tour to disaster relief in Japan during the Toronto leg last month, Sheen tweeted fans to join him on a 2-kilometre walk to raise money for the Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorder, and he would match donations dollar for dollar.
Last week during the tour, Sheen’s publicist announced that profits made from merchandise sold at the San Francisco show at the weekend would be donated to the Bryan Stow Fund in support of a baseball fan that was severely beaten after a San Francisco Giants game. Doctors are trying to bring Stow out of a medically induced coma.
Sheen’s donation to the Fund is planned to be the first from the Sheen’s Korner Foundation, which is currently under development.
