Aerosmith frontman and American Idol judge Steven Tyler made the holidays a little brighter for needy children in the Boston this holiday season after a visit to Whole Foods Market in Marshfield, Massachusetts.

According to Boston.com, Tyler was shopping in Whole Foods last week and spontaneously made 100 separate donations to the store’s Feed Kids Now campaign.

Each of Tyler’s $5 donations bought a grocery bag filled with nutritious food for an area child in need. Tina Barber, marketing manager for Whole Foods in the area, says that Tyler’s visit was a total surprise. She also says the generous donation was his daughter Mia’s idea.

"

His daughter suggested making a really nice donation," Barber tells Boston.com.

Each of the food bags will be filled a distributed to kids at Boston’s Quincy Crisis Center this holiday season. Tyler makes his first appearance of American Idol with this season’s premier on January 19.
