A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for foodies is on the celebrity charity auction block – an ultimate evening of glorious food, vintage wine and witty banter.

Sir Richard Branson and Mario Batali are auctioning the opportunity to join them for an intimate evening and sit down dinner for twenty at Mario’s new Italian born artisanal food and wine marketplace – Eataly – in New York City. The winner of the auction and a guest will experience dining at Eataly in one evening with Mario and Richard at their table.

The evening will begin with a Bellini and a behind the scenes tour of Eataly’s 50,000 square foot space, followed by seductive autumnal cocktails and a demonstration of some simple antipasti cooked up by Mario and Richard as a team. Then enter Eataly’s white-tablecloth Piemontese “Carne” restaurant for a four-course dinner with paired wines from the magnificent Borgogno Barolo Estate and white truffles in abundance.

Each guest will take home a La Mozza Magnum with custom designed label by Richard Branson and signed by the duo, as well as seasonal goodies plucked personally by Mario from the market.

Bids can be placed until Tuesday, November 16th at 3pm EST at www.charityfolks.com. Proceeds benefit the Mario Batali Foundation – established to feed, protect, educate and empower children – and Virgin Unite.
