Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor has made a $100,000 donation to the Alliance for Christian Education and is crediting Barack Obama for her inspiration.

The Jewish 77-year-old said she chose the Christian charity “because our new president challenged us to break down barriers that divide us. To honor that challenge and to help rebuild our nation, I feel we have to reach beyond the limitations we place on ourselves in the name of religion or other ways we define ourselves.”

The money will go towards funding the organization’s pilot program for global outreach: a Providence Hall Christian High School in Santa Barbara. More information about the organization can be found here.
