“If we can help these children, who have nothing, even for one day feel better, than we have done our job.” Beate Antares
Film producer, actress, and women and children’s advocate Beate Antares enjoys classical violin (Dortmund Music Conservatory) and ballet production (British Academy of Dance) when not managing her woman’s charitable soccer team, Sirens of Soccer.
The Sirens use the discipline of soccer to inspire the human spirit, build self-esteem and promote physical fitness to help underprivileged children around the world. Most recently that charitable spirit raised over $22,000 for African orphans and HIV and AIDS victims, through non-profit organizations such as Village Volunteers, which works in partnership with rural village and capacity-building programs to support the development of sustainable solutions for community survival, education, and growth.
Antares believes maturing children need advocates like Mama na Dada and SOS Children's Villages, an international non-governmental social development organization that has been active in the field of children’s rights and committed to children’s needs and concerns since 1949 in 132 countries and territories. The organization focuses on children without parental care and children of families in difficult circumstances.
And what better way to voice the simple desire of any child than the gift of a soccer ball; Antares is partnered with musician Sting's Hope is a Game-Changer Project, which puts indestructible soccer balls into the hands of kids in the most difficult places around the world, and Global Futbol Initiative, a non-profit charitable organization that supplies soccer balls to underprivileged communities throughout the world, donating soccer balls to over 3,000 children living in poverty in 22 countries.
