Patricia Heaton Charity Work, Events and Causes

Back to You actress Patricia Heaton works towards ending poverty and hunger through charities such as Heifer International and World Vision. Heaton starred in a public service announcement for the latter shortly after the Asian Tsunami, and was featured in the charity’s “Girls and Women Gift Catalog.”

“So many women and girls around the world lack life’s basics like clean water, health care, and the means to care for their families,” said Heaton, “World Vision is making a difference in their lives and this catalog offers an opportunity to be part of this important work.”

The author of Motherhood & Hollywood: How to Get a Job Like Mine is known to give gifts of llamas and goats, and to encourage her friends and family to do the same, through Heifer International’s “The Most Important Gift Catalog in the World.”

“Heifer helps you do something in the world that really is making a change in an individual’s life,” said Heaton.

Patricia also supports organizations which focus on orphans, autism and the environment.

She is vocal in her opposition of abortions, euthanasia, and the death penalty.

Heaton is honorary Chair for Feminists for Life.

She is a member of the 2008 Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet.
