This Red Nose Day, One Direction is to be immortalized in legendary magazine BeanoMAX, with superstars Jessie J, Olly Murs and David Tennant.

The famous faces club together to help The Beano regulars put on a spectacular show, all in the name of charity.

With David Tennant acting as Band Manager, Jessie J playing the part of Voice Coach and Olly Murs offering style advice, the celebrity collective helps Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx and a whole host of The Beano favourites perform their very own charity song. However, in the midst of chaotic, Beano-style preparations, the team get lost in planning and are left to choose a song at the very last minute; a spectacular – and truly Beano inspired – rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ to celebrate Red Nose Day’s 25th anniversary!

Having never featured in the renowned magazine before, One Direction said: “We were so excited when BeanoMAX wanted to feature us in their special Red Nose Day issue. We’ve grown up with the magazine so now to actually appear in it with Dennis and Gnasher themselves is incredible! We love the story and hope the fans do too. As ever, it’s all about doing something funny for money!”

Mike Stirling, Editor-in-Chief of The Beano and BeanoMax added: “It created a real buzz about Beanotown when so many stars agreed to be immortalised in our special Red Nose Day issue of The BeanoMax. It was brilliant fun imagining how Jessie, Olly, David and 1D would interact with our mischievous characters and I hope they enjoy the results as much our readers and their fans will. It shows just how eager they were to do something funny for money that they agreed to put themselves at the mercy of a mega menacing from Dennis & Gnasher!”

Comedian Harry Hill is also playing his part this Red Nose Day and guest-editing The Beano Red Nose Day special. The legendary magazine has only ever been guest edited once before, by the nation’s favourite animator Nick Park, and Harry is the first comedian to guest edit The Beano in its 75 year history.

Honoured to be asked, the comedian has been given complete editorial control as he asks readers to follow his examples and do something funny for money this Red Nose Day. Writing a series of hilarious mini-strips, co-writing the main Dennis and Gnasher story with Nigel Parkinson and writing a truly hilarious editor’s letter, the star really has gone to town with his prestigious, one-off role.

Entitled ‘The Bald Issue’, the magazine sees Dennis the Menace lose his famous spikes for the first time EVER – but in true Dennis style, the menace gets his revenge on the comedian by interrogating Harry in an exclusive interview in which the comedian reveals everything from the secrets of his success to his days as a doctor.

Mike Stirling, Editor-in-Chief of The Beano and BeanoMax said: "We were so excited when Harry agreed to become our Editor for this special issue, but couldn’t have imagined he’d be quite so enthusiastic about the role. He’s completely taken over and set a new standard for Beano editors! He’s our readers’ favourite comedian, so Harry teaming up with Dennis the Menace is the best possible inspiration for them to do something funny for money for Comic Relief on March 15th."

Harry Hill’s Beano special goes on sale on 6th March whilst the BeanoMAX special featuring One Direction went on sale on 27th February.
