During this year’s Earth Hour, which is taking place at 8.30pm on Saturday 23 March, boy band McFly will be doing something fun in the dark wearing their panda onesies!

The only catch is that they need to hit 10,000 likes on the UK Earth Hour Facebook page: www.mcflyearthhour2013.com before they accept the challenge.

“This year we are supporting WWF’s Earth Hour,” said McFly. “To be part of this all you need to do is switch off at 8:30pm for an hour on Saturday 23rd March. Go on, do it in the dark…we are!”

So what is Earth Hour? It’s about switching off the lights for one hour to show you care about protecting our brilliant planet. But it’s also a chance to have some fun in the dark! Last year’s Earth Hour was the biggest yet, over 7.6 million people in the UK switched their lights off joined by over 6,950 towns and cities across 152 different countries around the world. This year they are hoping to smash those figures and have loads of exciting things planned to help make that happen…

As well as McFly creating pandemonium, they’ve got lots of other great Earth Hour content including special Earth Hour Celebrity recipes, exclusive ‘Just So’ audio books to download and 60 Things – a list of fun things people can do while their lights are switched off. You can follow the launch of these on their website.
