On February 19, actress and L’Oréal Paris spokesperson Freida Pinto joined Vanity Fair and L’Oréal Paris to host a D.J. Night at the newly reopened Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. The evening, in support of the global education campaign, 10x10, featured performances by some of today’s hottest D.J.’s, including Ms. Nix and D.J. AcE.
Notable attendees included the evening’s host Freida Pinto, D.J. AcE and D.J. Ms. Nix, along with Vanity Fair Vice President and Publisher Edward Menicheschi and guests Will Smith, Dev Patel, Chloe Grace Moretz, Paul Haggis, Jessica Lowndes, Jason George, Alex Morgan, Debby Ryan, Zoe Lister Jones, and more.
10×10 supports the education of girls around the world through film and advocacy. The fulcrum of 10×10′s campaign is the groundbreaking feature film, Girl Rising, which spotlights the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the life of a girl — and the world. Directed by Academy Award nominee Richard E. Robbins, the film tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine countries. It is written by nine celebrated writers and narrated by nine renowned actresses, including Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington, Alicia Keys, Chloe Moretz, and Selena Gomez. Actress Freida Pinto, the night’s host and L’Oréal Paris spokesperson, also appears in the film.
D.J. Night has always been one of the hippest parties of Vanity Fair’s Campaign Hollywood, now in its 14th year, and this year was no exception. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy touch-ups at on-site L’Oréal Paris makeup stations, take a photo in the L’Oréal Paris photo booth, and view the new 2013 Fiat 500 on display throughout the evening.
Vanity Fair and L’Oréal Paris’s D.J. Night was part of Vanity Fair Campaign Hollywood, the magazine’s annual week-long series of events and one-of-a-kind moments in support of charitable causes leading up to the Academy Awards.
