Ian Wright, Tony Adams, Sir Trevor Brooking, Jimmy Greaves, George Cohen and Rodney Marsh are among the London Football Legends who will be at this month’s charity dinner in aid of the Willow Foundation.

The greatest football legends from the Premier League’s London teams will be joined by their most enthusiastic fans at the London Football Legends Dinner & Awards on Thursday February 28 at Park Plaza Riverbank, London.

Three awards will be made on a great night for fans to mix with their football idols. Awards for Best Goalscorer, Lifetime Achievement and the Willow Award (for services outside the game) include 6 nominees for the first two awards – including Didier Drogba and Jimmy Greaves for Best Goalscorer and Sir Trevor Brooking and Frank McLintock for Lifetime Achievement. The event will be hosted by Jim Rosenthal and Sky Sports presenter, Olivia Godfrey.

London clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, QPR, Tottenham and West Ham will all be represented by football stars from the 1960s and beyond, and guests will have the chance to be joined by a legend at dinner. The inaugural awards will see guests vote for the best goal scorer from the last 50 years on the night. The Lifetime Achievement winner will also be announced, chosen by the judging panel and the Willow Award, chosen by Bob Wilson, will recognise a legend for their achievements above and beyond football.

The Willow London Legend 2013 Award shortlisted nominees are:

Best Goal Scorer-1960 to present
Didier Drogba
Jimmy Greaves
Thierry Henry

Les Ferdinand

Ian Wright

Kerry Dixon

Lifetime Achievement
Tony Adams

Frank McLintock

Bobby Moore

Jimmy Hill

Sir Trevor Brooking

Steve Perryman

The London Football Legends awards panel includes Bob Wilson, talkSPORT presenters, Hawksbee & Jacobs, Evening Standard football correspondent, James Olley and sports broadcaster and event host, Jim Rosenthal.

Former Arsenal & Scotland goalkeeper and Willow Foundation co-founder, Bob Wilson, will host a Q&A session with the football heroes and a fun, interactive quiz will give guests the chance to test their football knowledge against their London rivals. Comedian, Bobby Davro, will be on hand to keep guests entertained.

“So many football heroes in one place – a real treat for true football fans. I’m not only looking forward to the banter with my football buddies, but also for the chance to reach out to so many more seriously ill young adults at a time when they most need it, thanks to money raised on the night,” said Bob Wilson.

Standard tickets include pre-dinner drinks and a three course dinner, costing £160 per person. Other packages include tables of ten with wine at £1,500, a Legends table of ten with a legend at £2,500 and a VIP Premier Package.
