Rihanna has donated $1.75 million to a hospital in Barbados in memory of her late grandmother, Dolly.

The singer visited the radiotherapy department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown during the weekend, where her grandmother was treated during her battle against cancer. Clara ‘Dolly’ Braithwaite passed away in June, and the radiotherapy department is to be renamed after her.

‘’This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program," Rihanna to E! News. "I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them.’’
