Music sensation Dionne Warwick and the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach have partnered with Damon Elliot Music Group and its Media Division to support the recovery efforts for Hurricane Sandy through a December 15th benefit event, as part of the resort’s BleauLive performance series.

Warwick will perform her timeless and soulful chart-topping classics along with her famous friends in a once-in-a-lifetime evening benefiting the United Way Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund.

The impact of Hurricane Sandy on Warwick’s home state of New Jersey, paired with the resort’s personal understanding of these types of natural disasters, transformed this scheduled performance into a recovery effort following last week’s devastation. In addition to a seated cabaret-style concert by Warwick and surprise guests, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of live auction experiences to further benefit the families and individuals impacted by Hurricane Sandy, including dinner for 20 by Fontainebleau’s Scott Conant, signature chef of Scarpetta. This event marks the first BleauLive performance benefiting a charitable cause.

“With our Miami roots, Fontainebleau Miami Beach recognizes the impact hurricanes have on local communities. In partnership with the Soffer Family and Dionne Warwick, we will support the United Way in their recovery efforts to assist the families in the areas devastated by the storm,” noted Philip Goldfarb, President and COO, Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

The United Way Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund will address near-term and long-term recovery needs of communities most affected. In addition, the fund will be utilized to bolster United Way’s community impact partners that serve Hurricane affected individuals and families who are already vulnerable — struggling with food insecurity and the ability to meet their most basic needs.

At the request of and in coordination with United Way U.S.A., United Way of New York City will lead fundraising efforts and ensure that all funds are used efficiently and effectively to serve those in need. United Way of New York City will charge no administrative fees.
