Actress and activist Sophia Bush has opened up her personal closet and donated her designer and vintage items for Closets for Causes auction to benefit Pencils of Promise.

Pencils of Promise believes every child should have access to quality education by creating schools, programs, and global communities around the common goal of education for all.

“PoP rocks my world because they believe every child should have access to quality education. They create schools, programs, and global communities around the common goal of education for all,” says Ms. Bush about Pencils of Promise.

This auction will help Ms. Bush in her current campaign to raise funds to build a school in Guatemala for an upcoming PoP campaign called “The Impossible Ones” that launches in August.

“Everyone has an impossible challenge; a milestone to reach, a daunting task to accomplish, a fear to overcome.” Said Melanie Stevenson, Director of Operations at Pencils of Promise. “Ours is 100 schools in 2012. By dedicating her impossible challenge to PoP, Sophia brings us one step closer. Together, we can achieve the Impossible and create possibility for thousands of children around the world.”

“We are excited to help Sophia reach her goal to build a school for the children of La Guadalupana, Guatemala via Pencils of Promise. There are such amazing pieces in the fashionista’s closet, and knowing that the proceeds are benefiting such an amazing cause is a win-win for our online shoppers.” States Closets for Causes founder Talia Bella. Sophia’s Brooke Davis auction in June was her first with Closets For Causes generating buzz and trending on Twitter among her fans which benefitted I Am That Girl.

The auction will include an impressive array of designer and rare vintage clothing often seen on Ms. Bush in the press and at events.
