Here’s your chance to get up-close-and-personal with Ringo Starr, and help charity at the same time.
A new charity auction raising money for the David Lynch Foundation is giving you the opportunity to attend Ringo’s concert at The Greek in Los Angeles and meet the Beatles legend backstage.
Ringo Starr is hitting the road with his 13th All Starr Band. This year’s group includes Todd Rundgren, Richard Page of Mr. Mister, Steve Lukather of Toto and Gregg Rollie of Santana and Journey. Each All-Starr will play 3 hits, and back Ringo on a mixture of Beatles and solo tunes.
Soldiers returning from combat, as well as underserved youth living in violence and poverty, often suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), called the “black death of the 21st century.” This living nightmare fuels violent, impulsive behavior; substance abuse; acute anxiety; manic depression; the inability to hold a job or stay in school; frayed family relations; and homelessness. The David Lynch Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against PTSD since 2005. The Foundation has provided scholarships for hundreds of thousands of at-risk youth, veterans and their families, and other underserved populations to learn the stress-reducing, health-promoting Transcendental Meditation™ technique.
The effectiveness of the TM technique has been documented at top medical schools, including UCLA, Stanford, Harvard, and Yale, and has received endorsements and support from private foundations and government agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the General Motors Foundation, the Chrysler Foundation, the Kellogg Foundation, top veteran service organizations and military leaders, multiple school districts, and state departments of corrections.
The Ringo Starr experience is one of several items being auctioned to benefit the David Lynch Foundation. Also going under the hammer are the opportunity to have David Lynch review your screenplay, the chance to have coffee with Eli Roth, a personalized Dirty Harry poster signed by Clint Eastwood, a private guitar lesson with James McCartney (the son of sir Paul McCartney), the chance to meet Russell Brand, a meet-and-greet with Jerry Seinfeld, and much more. The Ringo Starr auction runs until July 12, and can be accessed here.
