Celebrities and political leaders will be among hundreds of volunteers who will serve meals to the homeless and perform foot washing at the Los Angeles Mission this Easter.
Easter Week foot washing is a Christian tradition and an act of humbleness and service – memorializing that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples the night before he was crucified. Many who are on the streets seldom have normal loving human contact – and this outreach of food, foot washing with podiatric care and new shoes is a way of inviting them to learn about the Mission’s services, including its long term program of restoration – in order to get off the streets permanently.
Scheduled to attend: Boo Boo Stewart (Twilight Eclipse), Yani Gellman, (Pretty Little Liars), Amara Miller (the Descendants), Christa B. Allen (Revenge), DeVaughn Nixon (Prom), Edwin Hodge (Red Dawn), Shaunie O’Neal (Basketball Wives), Savannah Jayde, Kelli Goss, Denyse Goss (Jennifers 1, 2 & 3 from Big Time Rush), Isabella Rae Thomas (Brothers and Sisters), Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, and many others.
