March Of Dimes will celebrate the star-studded 6th Annual Celebration of Babies Luncheon on December 2 to honor individuals who exemplify the commitment to improving the health of babies by helping moms have a healthy, full-term pregnancy.
Honorees include Donna Langley, Co-Chairman, Universal Pictures, who will receive the March of Dimes Grace Kelly Award, bestowed upon a woman who shares in the commitment to healthy pregnancies and thriving babies; Dr. Jonathan E. Fielding, Director of L.A. County Department of Public Health, who will receive the Celebration of Babies Community Award, which honors an exceptional doctor who represents the values and beliefs of March of Dimes; and pediatricians Dr. Scott Cohen & Dr. Bess Raker of Beverly Hills Pediatrics, who will receive the Golden Rattle award, given to those who advocate for babies and who share the goal that every baby be given a healthy start.
Hosts include Celebration of Babies Chair Members Joi & Jimmy Horowitz, along with Event Co-Chairs Kelly & Ron Meyer and Hillary & Adam Fogelson.
Also to be honored will be the 2011 March of Dimes’ Celebrity “Stork Club” Volunteers, which include Jessica Alba, Connie Britton, Linda Cardellini, Diablo Cody, Rebecca Gayheart-Dane, Sarah Drew, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Jennifer Garner, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jewel, Alyssa Milano, Autumn Reeser and Marley Shelton.
Celebration of Babies recognizes these prominent individuals who are not only celebrating the birth of their children in 2011 but who are role models for their commitment to improving the health of babies.
The Host Committee include Adrianna Albergetti, Leslie Mann & Judd Apatow, Amanda Anka & Jason Bateman, Liza Chasin, Judy Craymer, Barbara Dreyfuss, Risa Gertner, Brian Goldner, Bonnie Hammer, Kevin Huvane, Sharon Jackson, Tracey Jacobs Lynn & Craig Jacobson, Blair Kohan, Amy Pascal, Jane Rosenthal, Allison Shearmur, Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth, Lauren Zalaznick and Patrick Whitesell.
Through research, education, advocacy and community programs, March of Dimes is a champion for the health of all babies. For more than 70 years, March of Dimes has enjoyed a rich history of Hollywood celebrity support. Stars like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and many others have volunteered for March of Dimes lifesaving campaigns. Proceeds from the Los Angeles Celebration of Babies luncheon benefit the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
