DreamWorks Animation has announced that the stars of their upcoming film Puss In Boots have participated in a purrr-fect promotion whereby one-of-a-kind, personally decorated Frye boots will be auctioned on eBay, with the proceeds to benefit Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).

Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis and Billy Bob Thornton using their own creativity, have each personally decorated a pair of Frye Harness boots with art supplies donated by Plaid Enterprises.

“I welcomed the opportunity to design a pair of boots that I know Puss would be proud of,” said Antonio Banderas. “He is hard to please, but I think he will eventually need a new pair.”

The individually customized boots will be on display at The Frye Company flagship store in New York (113 Spring St., between Mercer and Greene streets) from Thursday, October 27 to Thursday, November 17 and will be up for public auction on eBay for 10 days; from November 7 – 17. All proceed from the auction will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.

“Taking an active role in the fight against cancer by teaming up with Stand Up To Cancer and our talented cast from Puss In Boots is extremely gratifying!” said DreamWorks Animation Worldwide Head of Marketing, Anne Globe. “Antonio, Salma, Zach and Billy Bob are very talented actors. Who knew they would also shine as boot designers?”

“We are extremely excited to be teaming up with Puss In Boots,” said Kathleen Lobb, co-founder of Stand Up To Cancer and senior vice president of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. “Cancer touches all of us, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness and funds to support SU2C’s promising new way of doing cancer research.”
