Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy and the Kennedy family will host the 22nd annual RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights Golf Tournament in Hyannis Port, Cape Cod, on Friday, Oct. 14, to benefit the non-profit RFK Center.

Mrs. Robert Kennedy will be joined by 144 golfers from around the world, including celebrities Alec Baldwin, George Lopez, Matt McCoy and Bill Murray, and sports legends Darrell Green, Rafer Johnson, Jim Lonborg, Bobby Orr and Bill Russell.

“Bobby was a fierce competitor and admired courage on and off the field,” said Ethel Kennedy. “Playing golf on the course he loved with family, friends, and some of the greatest athletes and actors in our country is a wonderful way to honor him and support the RFK Center.”

Players will tee off at 10 AM at the picturesque Hyannisport Golf Club waterfront course enjoyed by President John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy.

The annual tournament was launched 22 years ago and continues to raise more than $500,000 and attract golfers from across the country, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Japan.

The tournament comes one month after the RFK Center announced that in 2011 its prestigious Human Rights Award will be presented to Frank Mugisha, a leading advocate for the LGBTI community in Uganda.

“We are proud to commence our six-year, intensive partnership with Frank Mugisha to support his work for justice,” said Kerry Kennedy, president of the RFK Center. “In a country where homosexuality is a criminal offense, and proposed legislation would make it punishable by the death penalty, Frank Mugisha is a heroic figure.”

Golf Tournament sponsors include Nike, Coke, Fedex, TD Bank, Bank of America, Citigroup, Citizens Energy, BCBS of MA, DLA Piper and Vera Bradley.

All proceeds from the tournament will support the Robert F. Kennedy Center For Justice & Human Rights.
