A host of celebrities are expected to attend a very special charity event this November – basketball on the flight deck of the Nimitz Class Supercarrier, the USS CARL VINSON.

Morale Entertainment is proud to present this exciting threshold event honoring our troops on Veterans Day, 11/11/11. This first ever contest will feature the Tar Heels of North Carolina and the Spartans of Michigan State in a Division I Men’s Basketball game, played before 7,000 spectators on the massive flight deck of the United States Navy Aircraft Carrier USS Carl Vinson. The vessel will be docked Naval Base Coronado in beautiful San Diego. A host of guests, dignitaries and entertainment figures will add to the excitement that highlights the exclusive ESPN Veterans Week programming.

ESPN will be broadcasting the basketball contest as well as a concert of A+ list talent following the game.

The contest is the highlight of ESPN’s Veterans Week programming leading up to Veterans Day that will include coverage of related features including a National Coaches Clinic with an expected 2000 participants and appearances and informative talks with dignitaries from the military and government as well as media figures and celebrities.

Morale Entertainment was established as a labor of love and respect to our fighting men and women by a small group of patriots from the entertainment, broadcasting, government and business fields. They perceived a need to increase entertainment opportunities for our warfighters deployed abroad. To address this important need, Morale Entertainment was founded on a vision to bring to our warfighters the “Best of America.” Additionally, by videotaping each event, producing broadcast–quality programming, Morale Entertainment envisions bringing families closer to their warriors, and raising awareness of ordinary citizens as to the extraordinary sacrifices of those who wear the uniform.

Celebrity guests will be announced closer to the date. For more information, click here.
