The famous Irish singer-songwriter and Boyzone star, Mikey Graham, has been unveiled as the host of a glamorous celebrity golf tournament set to take place in Scotland later this year.
The Caudwell Children Celebrity Golf Classic will take place at the World-famous Carrick Golf Course on the banks of Loch Lomond between September 29th and October 1st and will raise funds for national charity, Caudwell Children.
Graham, who has supported the charity on several occasions including an appearance on the hit TV show, All Star Mr & Mrs, will be leading up to 22 teams of celebrities and members of the public around the championship course.
Already confirmed to join the Boyzone star are World Cup winning rugby legend, Jason Leonard, Darts World Champion, Adrian Lewis and Sky Sports golf presenter, Sophie Horn; with many more famous names expected to be added shortly.
The golfing fundraiser is the brainchild of Paralympic athlete and Caudwell Children Ambassador, Matthew Dimbylow, who said: “It is great that Mikey has agreed to host the golf weekend and that other celebrities are joining the event all the time. The Carrick is a truly beautiful course and provides the perfect backdrop to a weekend of golf and fundraising for a really worthy cause.”
Caudwell Children supports disabled children living in the UK by providing equipment, treatment and therapies. To date the charity has provided over £13million worth of services and helped thousands of children with over 350 different medical conditions. The Charity’s ambassadors include Hollywood actress and author, Joan Collins, actress Elizabeth Hurley, Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, Peter André, Bruce Forsyth and singer, Robbie Williams. The late Boyzone singer, Stephen Gately, was also a Goodwill Ambassador for the Charity.
Trudi Beswick, Chief Executive of Caudwell Children, said: “We are very grateful to all of the celebrities who lend their support to the charity as they really help in raising the public awareness of the charity which in turn enables us to help more children. This is set to be a fantastic event and any teams that sign up to play will have an unforgettable weekend.”
For golfers wanting to join the Celebrity Golf Classic there are still some places left and teams of three paying guests will play with a celebrity and stay at the 5-star Cameron House Resort.
