The event will benefit Caley Camarillo, who lives with a rare & terminal lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis. CF causes an abnormally thick layer of mucus to form in the lungs leading to chronic, progressive & life threatening infections. The mucus also affects the digestive system causing poor digestion & absorption of food which in turn leads to poor growth and malnutrition. Caley is slowly approaching double-lung transplant stage and is expected to be placed on the donor list within the next 2 years. During Caley’s most recent treatment included a GI-tube placement (feeding tube) along with another surgery to help control reflux & was treated for CF related diabetes. Those stricken with CF miss out on several hours a day of life, needing to be hooked up to machines for treatments. Not to mention the several weeks throughout the year in hospital admissions, 9 hours a night hooked up to a feeding machine and depending on dozens of pills and oral medication to get through the day…
Currently there is no cure for Cystic Fibrosis but there are breakthroughs in research everyday and with your help together we can help Caley and others like her live a longer and healthier life.
