Some of Hollywood’s most beautiful stars will hit the catwalk for this year’s Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show in New York tonight.
This spectacular event reminds women of the need to protect their heart health and inspires them to take action. Slipping into red dresses for the event will be Dita Von Teese, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Alison Sweeney, Julianne Hough and Eva Amurri. Designers will include Donna Karan, Zac Posen, Monique Lhuillier, Badgley Mischka and Oscar de la Renta.
The Heart Truth is an awareness campaign created by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health. It is designed to warn women about their number one health risk, heart disease, and the need to take action against its risk factors.
The Heart Truth created and introduced the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness in 2002 to deliver an urgent wakeup call to American women. The Red Dress reminds women of the need to protect their heart health and inspires them to take action.
A selection of dresses worn by celebrity models in previous Red Dress events are currently up for auction at ClothesOffOurBack.org, including Venus Williams, Nelly Furtado, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Jordin Sparks, Mariska Hargitay and more.
The auction runs until March 6.
