On Tuesday, January 11, 2011 some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment will face off against each other by playing the hottest video game titles to raise funds and awareness for five amazing non-profits.

Celebrities will be participating in support of Junior Achievement of Southern California, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, the I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation, The Trevor Project and Grassroots Soccer. Each team of celebrity players will earn a minimum donation for their beneficiary charity and the winning team will earn $10,000 for their charity.

“High Musical” star Zac Efron will represent one of his favorite charities, I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation in an epic video game battle of Madden Football against Super Bowl Champion, FOX NFL SUNDAY co-host and actor Michael Strahan, who will be playing on behalf of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

“It could not be more serendipitous that Zac’s passion would support young adults fighting cancer, because his first cousin Emily is not only a recent young adult survivor but a national ambassador of the organization.”, says Matthew Zachary, a 15-year young adult survivor and Founder/CEO of the I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation. Another anticipated celebrity battle on Tuesday night will be the match up between baseball legend Jose Canseco as he represents The Trevor Project, playing the video game The Smackdown vs Raw 2011 against WWE Champion The Miz.

Guests will dance to the sounds of DJ Cobra and enjoy custom cocktails provided by TY KU, refreshing and hydrating beverages provided by Function Drinks and gourmet snacks and delicious desserts all in the gorgeous multi-media event space at Spot 5750, 5750 Hollywood Blvd. At 9pm partygoers will cheer on their favorite stars and athletes as the STIKS Celebrity Video Game Challenge for Charity begins. The final video game battle will take place at 11pm followed by a check presentation from the President of the H.O.M.E. Foundation, Frank Verdugo, to the winning team’s charity.

The H.O.M.E. Foundation, the proud presenting sponsor of the benefit, will be announcing the launch of their signature H.O.M.E. Foundation raffle at the party.

Frank Verdugo, President of the H.O.M.E. Foundation says, “We are honored to present the STIKS Celebrity Video Game Challenge For Charity as an opportunity to support the amazing work of five incredible non-profits. We salute the work that Junior Achievement of Southern California is doing to empower youth through entrepreneurship and education and The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund for taking care of our brave servicemen and women and their families. We stand behind The Trevor Project and their work to ensure equality for the LGBT community. We applaud the work that Grassroots Soccer is doing to stop the spread of HIV via their innovative and creative approach to use soccer to communicate their powerful message and we celebrate the work that I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation does to help support young adults battling cancer. We look forward to a fun night for five great causes and sincerely thank all of the actors, athletes and musicians who will be joining our team on Tuesday night to help so many in need.”
