A whole bunch of stars – including Ricky Gervais, Roger Daltrey, Joanna Lumley and Wayne Rooney – have donated signed canvases to a special celebrity charity auction in the UK.
The Willow Foundation and British artist, Julie-Anne Gilburt, have teamed up to create an exhibition of 20×20 cm canvases, each created by a different star. Well known faces from the worlds of sport, art, design, fashion, music and entertainment have drawn on their artistic skills in aid of the charity.
The result is a fun, colourful and enlightening exhibition at the Catto Gallery, Hampstead, which will be open to the public from 2 to 5 December 2010. More than 200 canvases will be sold online through an eBay auction, starting on 26 November, with bidding closing on 5 December 2010.
Other stars who have pictures going under the hammer in the auction include Yusuf, Blur, Fearne Cotton, Razorlight, Sharleen Spiteri, Andy Roddick, Frank Bruno, former All Black Zinzan Brooke, Rob Brydon, Dawn French, Stephen Fry, Terry Jones, Peter Kay, Jonathan Ross, David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Jude Law, Bob Hoskins and many more.
The Willow Foundation is a British charity that provides special days for seriously ill 16 to 40 year olds throughout the UK. The charity was set up by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson and his wife, Megs, in memory of their daughter who died of cancer aged just 31. The unique charity has provided thousands of morale-boosting special days for people living with cancer, cystic fibrosis, motor neurone disease, organ failure, muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s, amongst other conditions.
