Young actors Corbin Bleu and Madison Pettis – along with hundreds of youth leaders – will pledge their commitment to service by walking the Extra Mile Volunteer Pathway for the launch of generationOn.

generationOn, the newly-created youth service division of the Points of Light Institute, is igniting the power of all kids to make their mark on the world. Supported by more than two million young people in all 50 states and internationally, generationOn brings the leading youth service organizations and programs under one umbrella and includes more than 30 programs, 1,800 Kids Care Clubs and thousands of schools. The Hasbro Children’s Fund is supporting the generationOn movement with a gift of more than $5 million over the next five years, the single largest commitment the Fund has made at one time to an organization.

To officially kick-off generationOn, hundreds of children from around the nation will come together at the Extra Mile – Points of Light Volunteer Pathway and walk the mile-long path to represent their commitment to service and how they plan to make a difference in their communities. The kids will also make their mark by taking part in hands-on service projects to help the local and global community. Thousands more will participate online.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 23, at the Old Ebbitt Grill – Atrium, 655 15th Street, Washington DC. More info can be found here.
