Hugh Jackman is ripping into the problem of unhealthy school lunches.

He has written to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi asking her to make sure H.R. 5504, the Improving Nutrition for America’s Children Act, is voted on and passed this month.

Jackman says in his letter, “As a parent, I am extremely concerned about the skyrocketing rates of obesity, diabetes, and other serious health problems we’re seeing in children today.”

The bill Hugh supports, The Improving Nutrition for America’s Children Act (H.R. 5504), would help schools serve more fruits, vegetables, and low-fat plant-based meal options.

Jackman is one of more than 30 celebrities who have written to Congress to ask for healthy school lunches. Other stars to put pen to paper include Woody Harrelson, Scarlett Johansson, Jennie Garth, Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi and Sarah Silverman.
