The first annual Fearless Women Day luncheon is scheduled to benefit the Anne Douglas Center for Women at the Los Angeles Mission on August 26.

In 2009, Anne Douglas – wife of Kirk Douglas – was awarded the first Fearless Women award for her generous contributions to lift the plight of homeless and destitute women living on skid row. This year she will be presenting the 2010 Fearless Women award to several honorees.

Emcee for the event will be internationally acclaimed award winning actress, director and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Linda Gray, best known for her role as Sue Ellen Ewing, in the hit show “Dallas”.

There will be a performance by actress and Grammy Award winning singer Marilyn McCoo. McCoo serves as chair of the Los Angeles Mission board of directors.

In addition, internationally acclaimed photographer Mary Ann Halpin will be premiering her latest book entitled Fearless Women, Fearless Wisdom. The book is a collection of photos and stories of 40 female entrepreneurs from across the country and Canada to celebrate their courage and strength in having worked through their fears to achieve great personal and professional success.

The event kicks off at 11:30am on August 26 at the LA Mission, 303 E. Fifth Street, LA.
