Jason David's Corner Foundation (JDCF) has announced its annual celebrity weekend featuring the 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Classic on Friday, June 25, and the 5th Annual Youth Football Skills Camp on Saturday, June 26.

The golf classic will be held at Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley and the football skills camp will be held at Charter Oak High School in Covina.

The celebrity weekend was created by NFL free agent Jason David through his foundation, JDCF, in hopes of bringing the community together to promote the awareness of kidney disease and also to support the youth in the community in which he grew up.

In its second year, the golf classic’s proceeds will be donated to a doctor conducting kidney research and/or an organization supporting the cause.

“We had a great turnout last year and raised money to help fight against kidney disease.” stated Kristel David, Vice President of JDCF. “This year, we are planning for an even better turnout of supporters who want to help us fight this kidney disease battle.”

Tentative NFL players include 2010 Super Bowl Champions Will Smith and Courtney Roby, Matt Leinart, Hamza and Husain Abdullah, Bob Sanders, and Darnell Bing. In addition to meeting NFL superstars, participants will have a chance to bid on round-trip tickets on American Airlines to anywhere in the continental U.S.

The youth football skills camp is free to youth in the surrounding communities between the ages of 7 to 17. Participants will get the opportunity to learn from some of the best during a day of drills and exercises. They will also get the chance to ask the NFL players questions, eat a free lunch, and win awesome prizes. SportsClips, Glendora is an official sponsor of the camp.

Registration and check-in for the golf classic begins at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Dinner is sponsored by Outback Steakhouse of Arcadia/Glendora and will be served at 6:00 p.m. Early bird registration (before May 25th) for individual players is $185 and foursomes are $760. Fees include: green fees, dinner, a commemorative photo, and a gift bag. Corporate sponsorships are still available and range from $500 to $10,000.
