With decades of experience being photographed, Joan Collins knows what makes a good picture. Along with a host of other well-known Brits, Ms. Collins will be putting her knowledge to use as a judge of a UK photography contest running through June 11, 2010.

The contest, which is free to enter, is being held by Fight for Sight, a UK charity dedicated to researching and funding initiatives to combat sight loss and eye disease.

Called “My View of London,” the competition invites both amateur and professional shutterbugs to submit their favorite shot of the city. The prizes will be announced in late June, and include a three-night stay in a Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London penthouse suite, complete with fancy dinners and celebrity spa treatment.

Ms. Collins says her own favorite view of London is the peaceful river that runs in front of the grand Houses of Parliament. As a woman celebrated for her beauty and talent, and who was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her contributions to arts and charity, the former Dynasty star was a natural choice to judge of the sights of England.
