Avril Lavigne, Tia Carrere and Tom Arnold are just several of the celebrities lending their support to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) survivor and advocate Nancy Davis for May’s MS Awareness Month.

Davis kicked off the initiative last weekend at Kitson on Melrose with the help of a newly formed Junior Committee devoted to the cause. Inspired by Nancy’s dedication to finding a cure, the group of Los Angeles high school students formed the Junior Committee to raise funds and awareness for Race to Erase MS and the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis.

“I was just at the Race to Erase MS kick-off event at Kitson Melrose and WOW, what an amazing turnout in support of the fight to erase MS!” writes Avril on her Facebook page. “May is Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness month and throughout the month, Kitson will sell a variety of orange products with 100% of the sales going to benefit the Nancy Davis Foundation in the fight against MS. I can’t wait for the 17th Annual Race to Erase MS event which I’ll be performing at on May 7th in LA. Love, Avril.”

As Avril mentioned, throughout the month of May, Kitson will sell a variety of “orange” items, (orange being the vibrant color chosen to represent hope in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis) including Peace & Love by Nancy Davis products, Celebrity Designed T-Shirts and Jewelry, Donni Charm scarf, Simon G jewelry and more, with 100% of the sales going to benefit the foundation. In addition, Kitson will donate 1% of all Kitson store sales for the month of May to the Nancy Davis Foundation in their Race to Erase M.S. Visit the online shop here.

Also, this Friday – May 7 – is the 17th ANNUAL RACE TO ERASE MS EVENT featuring performances by Avril Lavigne, Heart, and Dr. Hollywood. The 17th Annual Race to Erase MS is a huge star studded gala that takes place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. This event is the principle fundraising effort of the Nancy Davis Foundation and to date has raised over $30 million for MS research.

The Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis was founded by Nancy Davis in 1993 after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. After her diagnosis, she was determined to devote her time and resources to finding a cure. Nancy’s hope, courage and strength continue to inspire her to maintain a vibrant quality of life despite this chronic disease, but most of all, she remains positive, continues to live her life to the fullest and is tireless in her efforts to finding the cure for MS.
