Sir Richard Branson has been selling time with himself.

For months, organizations and fans had been able to buy into events or bid for an hour of time with the business tycoon to take place during his visit to Perth. His visit came in March and raised over $800,000 for Strike a Chord for Cancer Foundation, a charity that supports children with cancer.

Strike a Chord believes that music can be a healthy and therapeutic distraction for children during their treatments. The charity provides musical instruments and lessons for the children, as well as financial support for families during the children’s treatment.

“I am totally supportive of what Strike a Chord is doing,” said Branson, "and when I heard about its involvement in giving the gift of music to the kids with cancer, it really moved me and I’m just so happy I can be a part of it.’’
