Depeche Mode and Swiss watchmakers Hublot have teamed up to produce a unique auction fundraiser to benefit Britain’s Teenage Cancer Trust.

Bidding for this online only auction is currently underway, and concludes on February 24, 2010. All of the proceeds will be presented to the Teenage Cancer Trust on February 26, 2010 at the concert of Depeche Mode’s “Sounds of the Universe” tour in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Hublot has created one dozen custom watches for the auction, each one featuring the artwork of one of Depeche Mode’s iconic twelve studio albums as its watch face. These one of a kind creations are beautifully presented in individually themed presentation boxes containing not only the wristwatch, but also a deluxe version of the album, a USB Key containing a digital edition of the album and documentary about making the album, an original album artwork print and a framed gold CD, as well as a photograph signed by all members of the group who contributed to the album, including Vince Clarke and Alan Wilder, two of the band’s original members.

Depeche Mode will be playing at the Royal Albert Hall for their first time on February 17, 2010 will open the Teenage Cancer Trust’s tenth series of performances, which will also be part of Teenage Cancer Trust’s 20th anniversary celebration marking the anniversary of the UK’s first Teenage Cancer Unit.

Established in 1997, Teenage Cancer Trust is dedicated to the needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin’s and related diseases by providing specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals. The teenage patients have been involved in the concept and creation of the ten units that the charity has built to date. They are designed to be places where patients, friends and family can all feel comfortable visiting. The medical facilities on the units are colorful and vibrant, and are equipped with televisions, computers and game consoles.
