Nick Jonas – from the Jonas Brothers – visited the North Texas Food Bank on Saturday, January 2, and pledged US$25,000 to the facility.

The young musician toured the food bank for two hours as part of a initiative between TV’s The Biggest Loser and Feeding America.

“If there’s something I can do to help – volunteer here today or giving a financial gift – that’s something I can do,” said the 17-year-old, who helped put together food packages during his visit.

“This is our next generation of philanthropists,” said food bank president Jan Pruitt. "His time here with these couple of hundred kids that are out here volunteering today – they’re going to find out, ‘Well, it’s important to him, it should be important to me.’ "
