British actress Judi Dench is leading a recycling initiative with a difference across the UK this month.
The Oscar-winning star – along with the Woodland Trust – is asking people to recycle their Christmas cards to fund the planting of trees in woodland areas of Britain.
“We all enjoy giving and receiving Christmas cards, well thanks to the Woodland Trust there is the chance for a second giving and receiving opportunity this year,” said Dench. “I would like to challenge people to give to the environment, recycle their cards and then receive trees for their environment by going to www.woodlandtrust.org/cards and choosing where the new trees generated by this year’s recycling should be planted!”
Cards can be recycled in special bins in selected shops in the UK.
