David Arquette, Josh Groban and Herbie Hancock were among hundreds of people who skipped lunch on the eve of the inauguration to help raise awareness of hunger.

The stars led a rally outside Washington’s Martin Luther King Library on Monday for Feeding America, an organization that distributes food and grocery products through a nationwide certified member network, and increases public awareness of domestic hunger and advocates for public policies that benefit America’s hungry.

“It has been very much a hidden issue,” said Vicki Escarra, the president and chief executive of Feeding America. “It’s a little bit like this dirty little secret, if you will, that in a country like America, one in eight are struggling to get enough food to eat.”

Arquette serves as Chair of the Entertainment Council for Feeding America.
