Envise, a subsidiary of Southland Industries, continued its tradition of giving back to the community by hosting the Pretty in Pink 80’s Posh Prom Gala which benefitted the American Cancer Society (ACS) and Fran Drescher's Cancer Schmancer on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Fashion Island Hotel in Newport Beach.

Sadly, everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. Envise chose to support these two charities because of the great variety of work they do to advocate for those affected by cancer – from cutting-edge research and influencing legislature, to personal programs such as rideshares, healthy living and peer groups. Cancer is a frightening diagnosis, but with the important work of American Cancer Society and Cancer Schmancer, the future is brighter, and more importantly, the patient is never alone in their journey. Envise stands with these two deserving non-profits in celebrating survivors and eradicating this dreaded disease.

Guests at Envise’s Fourth Annual Gala came dressed in their 80’s prom best and danced the night away to the decade’s biggest hits. Couples posed for their prom photos and shopped for the cure at the Kendra Scott jewelry bar.

Partygoers enjoyed a gourmet dinner, which began with an Heirloom Tomato Salad and Burrata Cheese, followed by Pesto Crusted Chicken, Red Wine Braised Short Ribs and Parmesean Risotto for the main course and Mango Panna Cotta with Fresh Pineapple and Raspberry Coulis for dessert.

Guests generously supported American Cancer Society and Cancer Schmancer in the silent and live auctions. Priceless and VIP experiences included lunch with Fran Drescher at the exclusive SoHo House Malibu and a set visit to Fran’s new NBC show “Indebted”, dinner at celebrity hot- spot CATCH LA, and a day in the studio to write and produce your own song with award- winning recording artist and songwriter Nash Overstreet, from the band Hot Chelle Rae.

Actor and breast cancer survivor Lisa Vidal (starring next in the new ABC show “The Baker and The Beauty”), presented the Envise EmpowHer Award to actor and health advocate Fran Drescher, who shared her story of being nineteen years well after beating uterine cancer. Fran premiered the trailer for her foundation Cancer Schmancer’s documentary “Be The Change”, which co-stars Jamie Foxx.

Celebrity guests Keo Motsepe (“Dancing with the Stars”), Selita Ebanks (supermodel and humanitarian), Blake Lewis (“American Idol”), Nash Overstreet (Hot Chelle Rae), Jill Whelan (“The Love Boat”), Lisa Vidal (“Being Mary Jane”), Wills Reid (“Bachelor In Paradise”), Sharon Blynn (“Captain Marvel”) and Hudson Thames (recording artist) joined cancer survivors and philanthropists from Orange County and Los Angeles at this fun event for a great cause.

Selita Ebanks and Keo Motsepe crowned Joy Po as Prom Queen and Craig Gonzalez as Prom King, and Whintey Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” was chosen as the official Pretty In Pink 80’s Posh Prom song. Guests had a blast in the Back To The 80’s photo booth. Recording artists Blake Lewis, Nash Overstreet and Hudson Thames treated guests to a soulful impromptu jam session at the piano.
