In addition to celebrating her recent wedding nuptials, Fergie is appearing in the latest M·A·C Campaign in the fight against Aids.
The three-time Grammy Award-winning artist was selected to assist in the makeup brand’s VIVA GLAM campaign in February of 2008 and has continued to serve in the essential task of educating the world about the importance of HIV and AIDS awareness.
The M·A·C AIDS Fund was created in 1994 to support all people affected by HIV and AIDS across the globe. The organization provides monetary support to global associations that work with underserved regions and populations. Four key goals of the M.A.F are to raise awareness of the link between poverty and HIV and AIDS, prevention, access to care, and the importance of adherence to medications and treatments. Through the sales of M·A·C VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass, the program has raised over 130 million dollars in the worldwide fight against AIDS and HIV.
Fergie asserts, “Combating stigma and the spread of HIV has a lot to do with raising awareness. As a musician, I’m able to reach a wider audience about issues close to my heart, and through the M·A·C VIVA GLAM campaign, I’ve been able to get this message across to people around the world.”
The MAC VIVA GLAM campaign for HIV and AIDS attentiveness started with the support of RuPaul, the movement will undoubtedly continue its life saving crusade through the use of kindhearted celebrities.
