W.O.L.F. Sanctuary will be holding its 15th annual gala fundraiser on Saturday, May 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Hilton, 425 West Prospect Road, Fort Collins.
This year’s event, themed “Howlly Wood”, will feature four respected speakers:
• Kristin Bauer, celebrity film and television actress and animal advocate, most known for her famous roles as Pam the vampire in HBO’s series True Blood and Maleficent of ABC’s Once Upon a Time. Nature and animals are her greatest passion.
• Suzanne Asha Stone, biologist who has worked in wolf restoration in the northern Rockies since 1988. She currently oversees Defenders of Wildlife’s wolf conservation programs in the Pacific Northwest emphasizing co-existence programs.
• Nathan Varley and Linda Thurston, wolf biologists who have worked on the Yellowstone Wolf Restoration project in its earliest stage. Now they run Yellowstone’s premier wildlife guiding service, Yellowstone Wolf Tracker.
Gala guests will enjoy a gourmet vegan or vegetarian dinner, over 100 unique auction items, a chance to become a Guardian Angel to our wolves, and the opportunity to meet an Ambassador Wolf. Highlights of the live auction include a guided wolf‐watching trip with Yellowstone Wolf Tracker experts paired with white water rafting, a five-day luxury vacation at a newly renovated home inclusive of a private Jeep Tour on the island of Cozumel, Mexico, an original painting by renowned artist Julie Kramer Cole, and a shawl made with naturally‐shed fur from wolves at our sanctuary. Online bidding for other interesting items is available starting May 6th here.
“Our gala is incredibly significant this year as we continue to raise the funds necessary towards our new property near Red Feather Lakes where we will relocate our rescued wolves to a safer, more accessible environment, and ultimately be open to the public for educational offerings to learn more about the plight of wolves in the wild and hear our rescued animals’ stories. In addition, funding is needed to continue our care at the current location while we move forward to construct and renovate our new property for our exciting move into the future,” says Shelley J. Coldiron, Ph.D., Executive Director.
Reservations are $75 per guest, with a limited number of premier Gold and Silver Tables available. Deadline for reservations is May 8th, though a very limited number of tickets will be available after that deadline for $85 each.
