Chegg Inc., the Smarter Way to Student, in partnership with truth, one of the largest and most successful national youth tobacco prevention campaigns, today announced Mission San Jose High School as the winner of a once-in-a-lifetime visit from award-winning musician Liam Payne, former member of One Direction.

To celebrate the importance of arts in education, the school’s music department will also be awarded a $10,000 grant from the Chegg David B. Goldberg Music Scholarship fund.

This concert is the fourth in a partnership series between Chegg and truth. truth shares the facts about tobacco and the marketing tactics of the industry behind it. Together, Chegg and truth are inspiring students to come together to use their passion and creativity as a force for good.

Students will be treated to a private concert featuring a selection of Liam Payne’s top hits. Liam Payne will also host an exclusive Q&A with the school’s students, sharing insights from his experience rising to global fame in one of the most successful pop groups as well as his transition to a solo artist. #CheggMusic101 with Liam Payne will take place at Mission San Jose High School in early 2019.

It will be a very special event for our entire community,” said Zack Larsen, Principal of Mission San Jose High School, “We are also thrilled with the donation to support music at our school. I am so proud of our students for achieving this!”

And I’m excited to share that with Mission San Jose students this winter,” said Liam Payne. “Working in partnership with truth means a lot to me as well because of their dedication to sharing the facts about tobacco and empowering youth to get involved and make an impact on the issue in their communities,” he added.

#CheggMusic101 with Liam Payne is the latest in Chegg’s ongoing series of music classes brought to students across college and high school campuses nationwide. Previous #CheggMusic101 events featured top-artists including Steve Aoki, Rachel Platten, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Shawn Mendes, Kaskade, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.
