Hilarity for Charity (HFC) announced the line-up today for the 6th installment of its annual fundraising event taking place in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 24.
The variety show will feature comedic greats including Michael Che, Sacha Baron Cohen, James Corden, Michael J. Fox, Jeff Goldblum, Tiffany Haddish, Chris Hardwick, Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Peretti, Craig Robinson, Sarah Silverman, and Michelle Wolf, and performers Post Malone and The Muppets. The special, which will stream globally on Netflix for the first time, will showcase a series of stand-up acts, comedic sketches and musical performances. Proceeds from the event will benefit HFC and its goal of raising awareness, inspiring change, and accelerating progress in Alzheimer’s care, research, and support through the engagement of young adults.
In 2012, Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen founded Hilarity for Charity as a resource for the millennial generation, to help bridge the gap in understanding the landscape of Alzheimer’s disease. Using this unique approach, HFC aims to significantly improve outcomes for all family members contending with Alzheimer’s disease by 2020.
“We started the Los Angeles Variety Show six years ago in order to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s, a disease that has touched so many families including my own. Our goal is to educate a younger audience and ultimately create the next generation of advocates for the cause,” said HFC Co-Founder Lauren Miller Rogen. “I am so thrilled to be able to share this year’s show with an even larger audience through our relationship with Netflix and are proud to have them as a partner.”
“Alzheimer’s sucks but comedy doesn’t,” added HFC Co-Founder Seth Rogen. “Which is why we’re excited to bring them together for one special night.”
HFC’s flagship Los Angeles Variety Show is creating the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates through an evening filled with music and comedy. Past performers and special guests have included Snoop Dogg, Miley Cyrus, Paul Rudd, Bruno Mars, Tenacious D, Patton Oswalt, Aziz Ansari, Judd Apatow, The Backstreet Boys, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Silverman, Weird Al and more. Funds raised through these events have been used to help families struggling with Alzheimer’s care, increase support groups nationwide, and fund cutting edge research. Since its inception, HFC has raised more than $7.5 million.
HFC’s 2018 Los Angeles Variety Show is sponsored by La Croix, Audi, Twitter, and Guinness, with Crown Royal Canadian Whisky as the lead Spirits Sponsor for the 3rd year in a row, and as an extension of the brand’s platform of exceptional generosity.
