Activist, entrepreneur, author and social media sensation Amber Rose will spark conversation and drive social change during the Amber Rose Weekend happening in Downtown Los Angeles from September 30 – October 1, 2017.

The Amber Rose Weekend will deliver a series of events geared toward education and raising awareness about social injustice issues, gender inequality and arts empowerment through its marquee Third Annual Amber Rose SlutWalk as well as the addition of an inspiring OPENed Women’s Conference. By boldly confronting tough subjects, The Amber Rose Foundation seeks to illuminate audiences on major issues women face that often go unaddressed while simultaneously empowering women of all walks of life.

In collaboration with The University of Southern California’s Center for Feminist Research, this year’s Amber Rose Weekend will be kicked off by an educational component — The OPENed Women’s Conference — which will be taking place on Saturday, September 30th, at the university’s Ronald Tutor Conference Center. Where unedited conversation meets education, compassion and a sheer desire to enact change, the women’s conference will feature keynote speaker, Debbie Allen, and an impressive lineup of panelists. The conference will include workshops and discussions focusing on the following five pillars: know your rights, sex talk & relationships, digital activism, entrepreneurship & financial literacy and policy reform. The OPENed Women’s Conference will conclude with a luncheon and awards banquet honoring outstanding community activists, as well as global activistics who are impacting change around the world.

On Sunday, October 1st, the Amber Rose SlutWalk will begin with a march where attendees will be encouraged to strut their stuff in honor of women’s empowerment. The march will lead activists to Pershing Square where the official Amber Rose SlutWalk festivities will commence. Though this event tackles serious issues, it’s guaranteed to be loads of fun, featuring a powerful speech from Amber Rose, musical performances by O.T. Genasis, celebrity DJ’s, commentary from hosts Big Boy and Lilly Singh, celebrity guest appearances, sign making, Walk of No Shame Wall, art show, pep rally and other entertainment. Attendees will also have access to free medical services like STD testing, and ongoing mental health assistance from Los Angeles Family Therapy. In addition, the event will host The Biggest LOVE LIVE Party, hosted by event sponsor Cam4.com, where attendees will use the hashtag #CAM4NoShame on social media to show what the SlutWalk stands for. For those unable to attend, the Amber Rose SlutWalk will be streaming live on the official Amber Rose SlutWalk website for the first time for anyone, anywhere to join.

Other event sponsors include AIDS Healthcare Foundation, LELO, Reebok, iHeart Media, Fashion Nova, Beats by Dre, among many others.

“Hatred and judgement demolishes self-esteem; but love and acceptance rebuilds it. When people tear one another down for their choices on how to live their life or govern their body, it divides families and nations,” said Amber Rose. “It is my goal to shine a huge light on the unassuming, non-traditional gems of the world – the ones that have been shamed, abused and counted out—through this full weekend of education and empowerment. It is my dream that we start living our life searching for the threads that connects us, the differences that inspire us and the lessons that teach us.”

Donations are now being accepted to help support the foundation and the on-site services at the event here.
