Global Citizen today announced Global Citizen Week, a series of events that will culminate with the 2017 Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park.
The public, advocacy-driven events and digital activations will take place across New York City and reflect the non-profit organization’s continued effort to engage people in the movement to end extreme poverty. Global Citizen Week will run from September 17th through the 23rd and convene and activate a global network of individuals, companies, NGOs, artists, and government agencies who are committed to joining this movement and taking action.
The events are timed to coincide with the UN General Assembly, shining a light on those pressing issues to be debated by the world’s top diplomats.
Global Citizen Week will feature a wide array of events, speakers, panels, performances, activations and powerful moments, including:

Description:
Headliners Stevie Wonder, Green Day, The Killers, The Lumineers and featuring The Chainsmokers will perform at this free-ticketed event. Special guest performances will be given by Pharrell Williams, Big Sean, Andra Day, Alessia Cara, and more.

Brands across the city will also be participating in GC Week. Technical athletic apparel company lululemon will host immersive yoga experiences and wellness events at lululemon’s HUB seventeen space located underground in its Flatiron store and in lululemon’s new store located at 597 Fifth Avenue. TOMS will transform their New York City storefronts into community activism hubs.
