Linkin Park, through their Music for Relief charitable organization, will made a donation to Save the Children to provide support to children and families affected by the heavy rains that have devastated northern Peru.
The band, currently on their One More Light world tour, donated one dollar for each ticket sold to last week’s concert in Lima, Peru.
Save the Children will use this contribution to support a fund for the victims of Piura, one of the regions worst hit by the flooding and heavy rains that spanned several months. More than 300,00 people in the Piura region have been impacted by the floods.
Linkin Park also invited their fans to bring the following donations to tonight’s concert for distribution to flood-affected families through Save the Children’s programs:
• Food not perishable (water, tuna cans, noodles, oats, rice, oil, salt)
• Basic hygiene products (toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, insect repellents, cotton, soaps, hygienic towels)
• Basic school supplies (notebooks, pencils, pens, colors, pens)
