Twitter and GLAAD announced today that they will partner to live stream the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet on April 1 (5:30 – 7pm PST) in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton and May 6 (5:30 – 7pm EST) in NYC at the Hilton Midtown.

The pre-show will be available globally for Twitter’s logged-in and logged-out audience on Twitter and connected devices and can be viewed at GLAADAwards.twitter.com or from @GLAAD.

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives. The red carpet live stream event in Los Angeles will be hosted by makeup artist and social media superstar Patrick Starrr, offering fans a front row seat to all the excitement with celebrity arrivals, interviews, and other activities. Further details on the New York event will be made available soon.

“Twitter is the place to be during award shows to see what’s happening,” said Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter. “We are honored to work with GLAAD and to continue our support for the LGBTQ community through this collaboration.”

“The GLAAD Media Awards red carpet has become the world’s largest platform for celebrities and notables to speak out for LGBTQ acceptance,” said Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD. “We are thrilled to partner with Twitter to bring so many supportive messages to LGBTQ youth around the globe.”

GLAAD previously announced that Troye Sivan will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak Award and Patricia Arquette will receive the Vanguard Award at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. Out comedian Cameron Esposito will host with presenters and special guests including Candis Cayne, Matthew Daddario, Josh Hutcherson, Victoria Justice, Trace Lysette, Tarell Alvin McCraney, Tatiana Maslany, Harry Shum Jr., and Jeffrey Tambor. During the event, actor Jussie Smollett will lead a special tribute to victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting that will include a performance by Cynthia Erivo.
