Comic Relief and BT Sport have teamed up to create the world’s first ever virtual reality 360 degree comedy sketch.

In ‘The Comic Relief Experience’ you’ll find yourself as a new starter working at Comic Relief headquarters where you’ll get a silly sneak peek into how chaotic the office is in the run up to Red Nose Day.

With so much to do, it’s all hands on deck and the Comic Relief office is full of eager celebrities who have the best intentions to help out, but who, well, get in the way a bit. The stars getting their hands dirty for Comic Relief by taking on odd jobs around the office include: Christopher Biggins, Chico, Chuckle Brothers, Mr Motivator, Dave Benson Philips, Right Said Fred and Sinitta.

Watch the sketch here now.

The sketch is a world first as BT has helped Comic Relief to create the first ever immersive comedy sketch using a moving 360 camera. The sketch, written by new writers Daniel Audritt and Kat Butterfield is released as part of the Comic Relief Originals series. The online series so far includes sketches from rising comedy stars Massive Dad, Beasts, Liam Williams and London Hughes with many more sketches set to be released in the coming weeks including Birthday Girls, Daphne and Grainne Maguire. Jamie Hindhaugh, COO, BT TV and BT Sport said “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at BT Sport and we were excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with Comic Relief, and bring our learnings on virtual reality filming to this project. Virtual Reality is an exciting new medium, and when filming, all aspects need to be considered, from Mr Motivator gatecrashing a photo shoot to Chico walking from distance to crash into Barry and Paul Chuckle in a corridor. Both the vision and audio need to be meticulously planned.”

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 24th March. To find out how you can get involved and make your laugh matter visit rednoseday.com. All the money raised will be used to help change countless lives, both here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest communities.
