On St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March, the cream of Irish stand-up comedy is gathering at the 3Arena in Dublin for the very first Irish event in support of Comic Relief.

Spearheaded by comedian Deirdre O’Kane and TV producer Darren Smith, Paddy’s Night in Support of Comic Relief will feature a who’s who of the Irish comedy scene including Tommy Tiernan, Dara O’Briain, Ardal O’Hanlon, Jason Byrne, Deirdre O’Kane, Abandoman, Des Bishop, Bernard O’Shea, Ed Byrne, David O’Doherty and PJ Gallagher. The event will raise vital funds for Comic Relief, who will use it to make grants to a selection of Irish charities that deliver projects that tackle poverty and injustice in Ireland and some of the world’s poorest communities.

Explaining the background to the gig, Deirdre said: “Like everyone else, I was moved by the heartbreaking images of people living incredibly tough lives around the world and at home, and so I decided I wanted to do something fun and useful that would raise a proper chunk of money. Now all we need is for the great Irish public to treat themselves to a brilliant night out!”

Paddy’s Night in Support of Comic Relief tickets are on sale from www.ticketmaster.ie and priced from €39 per ticket.
