Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day bounced into action on Friday as Save the Children Ambassador Natasha Kaplinsky led hundreds of supporters in six locations across the country, in an attempt to set the world record for the most amount of people jumping simultaneously in Christmas jumpers.
Creating a new world record for the most amount of people jumping in Christmas jumpers, 305 supporters in London, Manchester, Leeds, Derby, Wigan and Southampton donned their festive knits and jumped, twisted and sprang their way into the Christmas Jumper Day record books.
At 09:00am on the nose (Rudolph’s, of course!), a woolly-wearing compere announced to the ‘jumping jumpers’ the start of the world record attempt, and then at exactly the same time across all six centres, all of the supporters fundraising for Save the Children, helping to make the world better with a sweater, began the festive jump.
Showing that Christmas Jumper Day really is a woolly-ful time of year, it is not too late to follow in the 305 ‘jumping jumpers’ bouncing footsteps and donate £2 to Save the Children.
