The 15th Annual UCP of NYC Golf Tournament will be held at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, New York on Monday, September 19, 2016.
This annual tournament attracts over 250 golfers for a uniquely enjoyable day of golf and entertainment in support of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. All proceeds from the event fund the delivery of life-affirming programs and services to children and adults with disabilities and their families.
The golf tournament will be co-hosted by Teresa Priolo, three-time Emmy-nominated reporter, Fox 5 News & Good Day New York, and Erika Wachter, sports host and reporter for Fox 5 News.
“Over the past few years Teresa Priolo has been dedicated to helping UCP of NYC raise awareness about the many programs and services we offer,” says Edward R. Matthews, CEO, United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. “We are also excited to welcome Erika Wachter in her first year as co-host.”
This year, for the first time, the event will include a presentation of a UCP of NYC Corporate Champion Award, which will be presented to one of UCP of NYC’s generous supporters, Michael Berger, Senior Managing Director of Colliers International. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate the power to inspire and lead as role models for people with and without disabilities.
Mr. Berger joined Colliers in 1995 when it operated as GVA Williams. A real estate industry veteran, Mr. Berger, who specializes in leasing and sales of commercial properties, led the completion of one of the largest nonprofit transactions of 2016; a 30-year, 218,000 square-foot lease on behalf of UCP of NYC for the entire building at 80 West End Avenue. He has extensive landlord agency experience and is currently the leasing agent for several office buildings totaling over three million square feet in NYC. As a tenant representative, Mr. Berger has worked with many corporations with a proven track record of success. He is involved in numerous community organizations and currently serves on the Executive Board of Trustees at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns, among others.
The 15th Annual Golf Tournament is presented by the Carmel family. Other generous sponsors include Colliers International, Alliance, Avison Young, Staples, Baker Tilley Virchow Krause, LLP, Stop Pest Control, HOK, Weiss Group, Driscoll Foods, among others.
